Birth Doula Services
· I serve Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas
· I offer 1 free consultation meeting/interview where we can get to know each other and I encourage you to bring your husband/partner if you are not a single parent.
· If you decide we are a good match and want to hire me, then next we will have a pre-natal meeting at the location of your choice. This is where we will go over your birth and post-partum plans, my role as your doula, your hopes and fears and where I can help assist you with specific questions and concerns. I do recommend taking my childbirth classes that help with learning relaxation techniques and preparing parents for the upcoming birth. See below for details.
· I will be available by phone or email if you need me at any time and will be available 24/7 ten days prior to due date or until your delivery if you run past your due date. We can discuss a backup doula during our meeting.
· Once your labor has begun, I will be at your side as soon as you need me. I could meet you at your house or meet you at the hospital if this is not a home birth. I will not leave your side until after your baby is born and will stay until you feel ready for me to leave. During labor I will help with physical and emotional support for both you and your husband/partner.
· I will then offer 1 post-partum visit after the delivery. This visit can be used for breast feeding support, errand runs or whatever you need during this often difficult time. This visit is 1-2 hours long. I do offer post-partum services (listed below) if you feel that you will need more help.
Costs
I charge $600 for all of the above services including travel and expenses. Payment is due at the pre-natal meeting (not the interview). $50 for additional pre-natal meetings, if desired.
Childbirth Classes based on the Philosophy of Birthing From Within
· I offer a course consisting of 3 classes that last for 2 hours each. These classes will focus on relaxation techniques, exercise and nutrition, comfort measures and positioning, hospital procedures, stages of labor, father's role, post-partum care, breastfeeding and addressing fears and concerns you might have. Following the Birthing From Within Philosophy, I help to "Validate, Motivate, Educate, Initiate, and Celebrate new parents."
Costs
I charge $150 per course (total of 6 hours of class). If you live more than 30 minutes away, I charge an extra $15 total for travel expenses. These classes are private and done at the home of the expecting parents.
Post-Partum Doula Services
· I serve Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas
· I offer 1 free consultation meeting/interview where we can get to know each other and I encourage you to bring your husband/partner if you are not a single parent.
· My services include: Breastfeeding support, Child care education and support, Meal Preparation, Sibling care, some household help, and running errands.
· My top priority is to the mother and making sure she is well taken care of, and to help build the confidence and assurance both parents will need to better care for their newborn. My role as a Post-Partum Doula is not to be a baby sitter, but to help parents with the skills they will need to better care for their infant during often difficult and unpredictable times.
· Please feel free to contact me about hours and scheduling. I do not do sleep-overs.
Costs
I charge $15/hour for all of the above services including travel and expenses. If you live more than 30 minutes away, I charge an extra $5 for gas. Payment is due at the end of each shift.
